Hi, my name is Mia Parra-Grisolia and I am the founder of Sunshine Boxes! As a Venezuelan high school student in the U.S., I felt compelled to make a difference in my family’s country by taking action and creating this organization. Witnessing the challenges and struggles faced by countless families in Venezuela profoundly affected me, stirring a deep sense of urgency and responsibility within me. I realized that I couldn't, in good conscience, remain a mere spectator to their plight

My parents have been a tremendous source of inspiration in my life. Their unwavering kindness and boundless generosity have played a pivotal role in shaping my core values. It is their influence that drives Sunshine Boxes' mission to make a positive difference in the lives of those who are in need.

Growing up, I was fortunate enough to have experienced some of my happiest memories in Venezuela. The warmth of the people and the breathtaking natural landscapes all played a part in shaping my most cherished moments. Whether it was family gatherings filled with laughter and delicious arepas, or scraping my knee as I ran around the house, every memory holds a special place in my heart. The sense of community and joy that permeated every aspect of life in this beautiful country is something that I will always carry with me, no matter where I go. Reflecting on these memories serves as a beacon, fueling my desire to be a source of hope for those in Venezuela who may be navigating through difficult times.
